Brownfields Redevelopment
Kane Environmental has worked on 12 Brownfields Redevelopment projects over the past 3 years.
The sites with the following types of operations and contamination: historic and operating gasoline
service stations, former dry cleaners, automotive repair and maintenance facilities, commercial strip
malls, heavy metals contamination in a metals recycling industrial facility, PCB-laden oil with heavy
metals in underground storage tanks, cutting oil floating product in an industrial processing site,
metals finishing plant and a former electrical substation.
Kane Environmental developed an investigation and remediation strategy for each site, working with the
client, their contractor, architects and civil engineering firms with short redevelopment timelines,
and in some cases, conducting remediation at the same time as the site redevelopment.
Kane Environmental is the prime environmental consultant for soil and groundwater remediation at the
Juanita Village site in north Kirkland, Washington under a Prospective Purchaser Consent Decree with
the Washington State Department of Ecology and Attorney General's office. Kane Environmental prepared
the Cleanup Action Plan and Engineering Design Report. The remediation effort is currently one-year
ahead of schedule and No Further Action letters have been received from Ecology for each development lot on the site.
